It’s World Mental Health Day on 10th October 2021 and this year’s theme is ‘Mental Health in an Unequal World’.
Inequalities due to race, gender and sexual orientation are still prevalent and impact many people’s mental health. Mental health issues are still associated with stigma, so what can we do to improve our mental health in our day-to-day lives?
The NHS ‘every mind matters’ initiative provides practical tips and advice on how to create coping mechanisms to help us relax more and enjoy our lives.

Being active and enjoying a healthy lifestyle has shown to improve people’s moods and how they feel. Finding new hobbies or doing something you enjoy is rewarding. Reconnecting with friends and family and spending quality time is a great way to lift your mood.
