How to understand the true impact of a chronic condition on everyday life
Challenge
The condition was considered ‘low impact’ by many key stakeholders, leading to a reluctance to treat. Our challenge was to give a voice to those affected and overcome entrenched scepticism.
Approach
The most powerful advocates are patients and their families. We partnered with patient advocacy groups (PAGs) across Europe to design and deliver a study capturing the true impact of the condition on patients and their families, and to ensure its messages hit home.
Execution
Recruiting participants, running the study, and collecting results was only the first step — we then transformed data into creative outputs with reach and resonance:
An award-winning awareness video highlighting the emotional impact of the condition that was also used by the PAGs
An animated infographic illustrating the economic burden of disease
Plain-language summaries and explainer videos translating study data into informative, accessible content
Together with the PAGs, we helped amplify the campaign across social channels and live events, reaching their members and broader audiences.
Impact
Campaign achieved all target metrics
Content repurposed for HCP education, school programmes, and payer engagement campaign
Several publications were developed from the data which helped provide tangible evidence for the burden of the disease
As the study continued, we were commissioned to develop a digital tool that turned the more qualitative data into a powerful interactive story
